GETTING RICH (THE REFRAME)

stop optimizing for getting. optimize for usefulness.

The Lesson

The best entrepreneurial advice sounds dumb because it's simple: figure out what people want and provide it. But here's the reframe. Stop thinking 'how can I get the most?' and start thinking 'how can I provide the most?' The irony: that's when you get the most. Continuously scan the world asking 'how could I make a difference here?' That's where rewards come from. Financial, emotional, psychological. Nail usefulness and the rest is easy.

Real-World Example

A founder brainstorms startup ideas by listing 'hot markets' and 'ways to make money.' They struggle. Reframe: spend a week listing every frustration they see in the world. What do people complain about? Where is value being destroyed? Pick the frustration where they can be most useful. Build for that. Money follows usefulness, not the reverse.
