VOICE VARIETY ILLUSION

you have less voice variety than you think. go way bigger.

The Lesson

You know monotone is boring and variety is engaging. But here's what you don't know: you have far less variety than you think. In your head, you feel like you're going BIG and then small. But you're probably at 50% of what you need. The optimal amount of variety is way higher than your goal. Watch yourself on video playback. You'll be shocked how small your 'big' moments are. The illusion: being halfway there feels like being all the way there. Build confidence to actually go big, pause, go small. Watch playback. Adjust.

Real-World Example

A founder practices their investor pitch. They think they're being dynamic-emphatic on the vision, quiet on the numbers. They record it. Playback shows monotone with tiny variations. They push harder: almost shouting on the vision, barely whispering on the numbers. Feels ridiculous. Playback shows: now it's engaging. The illusion made 'normal' feel 'big.'
