CREATIVITY FRAMEWORK

fill your head. bash ideas. feel it in your body. subtract fast.

The Lesson

Creativity is mostly process, not magic. First, fill your head with diverse experiences-different jobs, places, books. This is raw material. Second, bash existing ideas together ('idea sex') to create new combinations. Third, body test every idea: if it doesn't make you giggle, get goosebumps, or feel something physically, it won't move others either. An intellectual 'that's clever' isn't enough. Fourth, creativity is subtraction-rapidly discard bad ideas so good ones can surface. You're not creating from nothing; you're filtering the flow.

Real-World Example

A founder needs a product hook. They've read psychology, worked in gaming, lived abroad. They bash: gaming mechanics + psychology insight = 'make saving money feel like leveling up.' Body test: they actually smile. Ship it. If the body test fails, discard fast and try another combination. The creative hit comes from volume and filtering, not inspiration.
