CHANGING THE ROOM

your mood changes theirs. walk in happy. they become happy.

The Lesson

Some people brighten a room just by walking in. Others drain it. You have this power too. You just don't know it. Most people walk into rooms thinking 'how do I protect myself?' Reframe: 'how can I change these people?' Walk in with good energy, and people's moods lift. Walk in like someone ran over your dog, and they'll match that. You control the room's emotional temperature. Just know it, test it, observe it happening. Want others to be happy? Be happy first.

Real-World Example

A founder dreads board meetings. Tense, adversarial. They decide to test the theory: walk in genuinely upbeat, make eye contact, project calm confidence. The board matches the energy. Same information, different dynamic. Meetings become collaborative. The founder didn't change the board. They changed themselves, and the board followed.
