THE EXECUTIVE
“name your executive. call it when you need business handled.”
The Lesson
You have multiple personalities inside-the artist, the emotional one, the angry one, the student. They all want things. But there's one that can control the rest: the executive. Once you name it, you can feel it. The executive doesn't want-it decides. It doesn't procrastinate because something's unpleasant. It doesn't hesitate. When you're tempted to avoid something hard, call the executive. When your other minds are fighting, summon the boss. The executive is like Darth Vader. When it shows up, the other minds back down. Name it. Call it. Let it handle business.
Real-World Example
A founder keeps procrastinating on a difficult conversation with an underperforming employee. The emotional mind doesn't want conflict. The nice-person mind wants to avoid hurting feelings. They call the executive. The executive doesn't care about discomfort-it handles business. The conversation happens. Clear, direct, done. The executive doesn't negotiate with the other minds. It just decides and acts.
